A rose by any other name
A rose by any other name is still impossible to get permission to use. While that’s not the most Shakesperian of observations, it’s proven to be true. A long time ago, Joy Mover fell in love with this image of a multi-colored rainbow rose. It was then decided to make that the centerpiece of new album art, and ultimately the Joy Mover logo and brand.
Without wanting to deny anyone their due credit and compensation, the search for the rose’s photographer or Photoshopper (we’re not sure which…) was launched. Months later, we’ve found the rose popping up in quite a few places, but nobody knows who actually created it.
We’ve heard that:
- It’s public domain since everybody’s using it …
- The rose was created as part of Washington D.C.’s Gay Pride festival a few years back
- Somebody named “RRangel” created it.
- The team at “Pimp My Profile” own the rose, but don’t care if anyone else uses it.
Nobody on the Joy Mover team places much credence in any of these statements. But we’ve got no other leads, and the folks on Law & Order don’t want to take the case. If you know anything about this image, kindly contact us. Thanks.
